OrderVane — Quantower order-flow indicator suite
Last updated: 2026-07-27
This policy explains what personal data Ordervane ("we", "us") handles when you visit ordervane.com, purchase a license, or use the OrderVane software, and what we deliberately do not collect. Questions and requests: hello@ordervane.com.
ordervane.com is a static site. It sets no tracking cookies and loads no advertising or cross-site trackers. Fonts, images, and every other asset are served from our own domain, so visiting the site does not disclose your IP address to any advertiser or analytics broker. Your language preference is stored in your browser's local storage ("ov_lang") and never leaves your device. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may process standard connection logs (such as IP address and user agent) to serve the site and protect it from abuse, under its own privacy terms.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see basic aggregate traffic (page views, referrers, countries). Cloudflare injects a small measurement script from static.cloudflareinsights.com on its edge. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your device, and does not follow you across other websites — so no cookie banner is required and there is nothing for you to opt out of beyond ordinary browser controls. Cloudflare is already our hosting provider (see section 7), so this adds no new company to the list of parties that see your request.
Checkout, payment, tax, invoicing, and refunds are handled by our Merchant of Record (currently Lemon Squeezy, a US company), which is the seller of record. When you buy or start a trial, the Merchant of Record collects the data needed for the transaction (such as your name, email address, and payment details) under its own privacy policy. We receive the order information required to serve you — typically your name, email address, and license key — and use it only to deliver, support, and manage your license. When you follow a purchase link from this site, we attach two non-identifying labels to the checkout: which button you used together with the site language (for example lite-buy-de), and a coarse traffic-source bucket taken from a fixed list such as google, chatgpt, or direct. They tell us which parts of the site lead to sales. We do not pass the referring address itself — any source outside that fixed list is sent as other, so a link from a private forum or an internal wiki cannot be disclosed through us.
When you activate the software, your license key and a machine identifier are sent to the Merchant of Record's license service to validate the key and count activated seats. The machine identifier is a short hash derived from your computer — your computer name and user name are not transmitted in readable form. This exists to enforce the seat limit of the license you purchased.
If you are running a free trial, the software additionally asks our own licensing endpoint (a Cloudflare Worker at ordervane-api.ordervane-hq.workers.dev) once per session whether this computer has already used a trial. That request contains the trial key and the machine identifier, and we store a hash of the machine identifier together with the trial key's identifier, so that the same computer cannot start unlimited free trials. If this check cannot be reached, the trial simply continues — we never block a trial because of a network or server problem. Paid licenses do not make this request at all.
Legal basis (EEA/UK): performing your licence agreement for seat validation (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), and our legitimate interest in preventing abuse of the free trial (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). None of this is used to profile you or to track your trading activity.
ordervane.com/version.json) to see whether a newer version has been released. That request carries no license key, no machine identifier, and nothing about you or your trading; as with any web request, our hosting provider may log the connection (including IP address). It fails silently when you are offline, and it never downloads or installs anything by itself. If you email us, we keep the correspondence (your address and message contents) for as long as needed to help you and to keep a record of the support history for your license.
We rely on a small number of service providers to operate: our Merchant of Record (Lemon Squeezy, US) for checkout and license validation, Cloudflare (US/global) for website hosting, cookieless traffic analytics (section 2), and the free-trial check endpoint and its key-value store described in section 4, our email provider for support correspondence, and a third-party mobile dashboard we use to view our own store metrics (it receives order notifications from the Merchant of Record). Depending on where you live, this means your data may be processed outside your country. Each provider processes data under its own published privacy and data-processing terms.
Order and license records are kept for as long as your license is active and as long as required for accounting and legal purposes. The free-trial record described in section 4 (a hash of the machine identifier plus the trial key's identifier) is kept so that one computer cannot repeatedly claim new trials; if you want it removed, email us with your trial key and we will delete it. Support email is kept while relevant to your license. You may request deletion at any time (see below); we will honor it except where retention is legally required.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing hello@ordervane.com. EU/UK residents may exercise their GDPR/UK-GDPR rights (including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection) via the same address; you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. For data collected at checkout, you can additionally contact the Merchant of Record directly.
OrderVane is a trading-analysis tool for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
