What Quantower gives you free

Before you buy any order flow add-on, know what you already have. This page lists what ships with the platform, checked against an installed build rather than a feature page.

Order flow tools are sold on the assumption that your platform does not have them. On Quantower that assumption is mostly wrong, and it is worth knowing exactly how wrong before you spend anything — including on us.

Everything below was checked against an installed Quantower v1.146.7 on 26 August 2026, by reading the shipped binaries rather than the marketing pages. Where something is missing we say how we looked.

The chart already does footprint

The cluster chart is a platform feature, not a third-party add-on. What your licence unlocks is a separate question, and we come back to it below.

If your question is "can I see bid × ask numbers inside a candle on Quantower without buying a third-party indicator?" — yes, in the platform itself.

There is also a bundled indicator pack, and it is not in the help docs

This is the part most people miss. Quantower installs an open-source indicator pack alongside the platform, in bin/Scripts/Indicators/. It does not appear in the official help, only in the binaries. The sources are public at github.com/Quantower/Scripts.

Reading the shipped Volume.dll on v1.146.7, that pack includes:

• Speed of Tape — how fast trades are arriving
• Power Bars — with settings named Highlight absorption bars, Absorption bar color and Exclude absorption bars
• Abnormal Trades and Abnormal Volume
• Max Volume and Min Volume
• Bid x Ask, Depth of Bid Ask
• Delta Dots, Delta Flow, Delta Rotation, Segmented Volume, Volume Impulse, Relative Volume
• and in the other bundles, Cumulative Delta, Volume Analysis Delta, Trades Count, Delta Divergence Reversal

So "absorption" and "tape speed" are not exotic capabilities. They are in the box. That is worth knowing before you evaluate anything — ours included — that lists them as features.

About the licence

Quantower has a free tier and a paid one, and not every feature sits on the free side. That is worth checking against your own account rather than against a page like this one.

The part most people do not know: several futures brokers sponsor the full licence for their clients. If you trade through a broker, ask them before you pay for anything — some traders are paying for a licence their broker already covers, and the volume analysis tools above come with it.

What is not there

Here we have to be careful about method, because "the docs don't mention it" is not evidence.

We scanned 318 platform files in the v1.146.7 install — assemblies, resources and templates — for each term as a string, in both byte encodings. We excluded our own DLLs, and we excluded the saved workspace file (it contains our indicator's setting names, which produces a false hit if you leave it in).

Absent from the platform on that build:

unfinished auction · single print · naked poc · stacked imbalance · zero print · min delta · max delta · trades per second

Read as a list that is not very interesting. Read as a category it is one thing:

The platform draws bars. It does not carry a level forward until price answers it.

A cluster chart tells you what happened inside the bar you are looking at. What it does not do is keep a price on the screen because something was left unfinished there three hours ago, and then change how that price is drawn the moment the market comes back to it. Every term in the list above is an instance of that same missing idea — a level with a lifecycle.

The other absence is narrower and more concrete: the bar statistics grid has no row for the highest and lowest delta reached inside the bar. It reports where delta ended, not how far it swung on the way.

Where OrderVane starts

We are not going to pretend the overlap does not exist. Our cells, imbalances, tick grouping and cumulative delta sit on top of what the platform already does — that layer is parity, and we say so.

What we add is the part above:

• Naked POC — a POC price has not traded back to, drawn until it does
• Unfinished auction — a bar high or low where both sides were still trading
• Zero print — a row where one side printed nothing at all
• Stacked imbalance zones — consecutive one-sided rows, projected forward until something breaks them
• Volume shelf — a price that took an unusual share of the volume around it, measured against three windows at once and identical on every timeframe

And where the platform has the concept but not the depth, we say depth rather than absence: absorption marked per price with a book check rather than as a bar highlight, and tape speed read as a meter beside the bars rather than as a separate panel.

If the list in the first two sections already covers how you trade, you do not need us. That is a real outcome and we would rather you reach it here than after a purchase.

How to check this yourself

Nothing here needs to be taken on trust:

1. Open Quantower and look at bin/Scripts/Indicators/ inside your install folder — the bundled pack is sitting there.
2. The cluster chart and Time Statistics are documented at help.quantower.com.
3. For the absence list, search the install folder's binaries for the terms yourself. If a future build adds any of them, this page is out of date and we would like to know.
